Start the journey with a pick-up from your accommodation. We leave Perth heading East to the Darling Range, also known as the Perth hills, through charming townships, national parks and farmland on our way to the historic Town of York. York was the very first inland settlement in Western Australia. We have a break enjoying a relaxing stroll along the picturesque Avon Terrace, displaying great examples of Victorian and Federation architecture, visit the majestic York Town Hall and Theatre, and the suspended bridge over Avon River.
We continue driving through the wheatbelt region, characterised by its sleepy towns and vast colourful farmland. Stop in Corrigin for lunch (own expense) followed by a brief stop at the inspiring Statues Salt Lake in Kondinin. Next is time to experience the awe-inspiring multicoloured Wave Rock. You have the opportunity to take lots of photos and explore further at the upper level of Wave Rock where you see more interesting rock formations and able to enjoy the spectacular views of the region.
Stop at Hippo’s Yawn Cave before returning to Perth enjoying the sunset (weather permitting).
